Linda K. Ferley, age 66, of Parkers Prairie, went peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, Monday, January 2, 2017, following her 4 ½ year battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Rachel Stout officiating.  Music is provided by organist, Nicole Cuchna and vocalist, Theresa Boettcher. Burial is at Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, rural Parkers Prairie.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service.

Linda Kay (Greenwaldt) Ferley was born December 2, 1950, to Ervin and Mardell (Fox) Greenwaldt in Bertha.  She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Hewitt.  She graduated from Bertha High School in 1968. She received her Diploma in Business and Office Education from Wadena Area Technical Institute.  Linda was united in marriage to Blayne Ferley on August 16, 1969, at the United Methodist Church in Hewitt.  Following their marriage, Linda enjoyed being a stay at home mom and raising her family.  She also worked at the Napa Store in Eagle Bend and provided daycare.  Linda retired from St. William's Living Center in 2016, after 28 years of service, her last position as activities aide.  She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served on the church council, and taught Sunday School and Confirmation.  She belonged to the USBA Bowling League and Double Eagle Ladies Golf League both in Eagle Bend.  Besides golf and bowling, she enjoyed flower planting, sewing, camping with her family and watching her children and grandchildren's school activities.  Linda loved her winter trips to Texas, her sister, Sandy (Richard) Baso, and her good friends from Eagle Bend.  Family gatherings during Christmas and Fall Festival were her two favorite times of the year, and she was well known for her fudge and Christmas wreath cookies.  Linda will be remembered for her life led by example and treating others with unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia; brother, Chuck; and stepmother, Clara Greenwaldt.

Linda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Blayne; son, Mark Ferley of Parkers Prairie; four daughters, Tammy (Darren) Gorder of Park Rapids, Theresa (Ryan) Boettcher of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Jodi ( Clint) Gray of Alexandria and Jennifer (Josh) Hinrichs of Parkers Prairie; two sisters, Judy ( Donald) Schlueter of Hewitt and Sandy (Richard) Baso of Eagle Bend; step-sister, Lois (Joe) Hallerman of Wadena; step-brother, James (Sandy) Kopponen of Wadena; 16 grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah, Sarah, Tyreece, Shaila, Aneka and Allison Gorder, Brandon and Mitchell Cooper, and Kayla and Bryan Boettcher, Alayna and Sydney Gray, Matthew Ferley, and Kailey and Tenley Hinrichs; 12 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Urnbearers are her grandsons. Honorary urnbearers are her granddaughters.
