Lenore Johnson was born November 5, 1932.

Lenore Johnson was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker blessed with many talents that she generously shared with family, friends, and neighbors.  She was a lifelong learner who grew up on a farm in Roseglen, North Dakota before she moved to Minot with her brothers to attend high school. The homemaking skills learned from her mother she built on with a home economics major in college at NDSU and University of MInnesota. She married Lt. Kenneth R. Johnson on June 27, 1953. One week ago they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary with a party at the Veterans Home.

She cheerfully moved the family whenever her devoted husband Ken was relocated for his work. She spent time raising her children and volunteering for activities in the church and community. She put her amazing cooking skills to work as part of a catering group, and baked the best pies ever! A pie was always on hand for friends and family who would stop by, as hospitality was so important to her. Lenore made all her own clothes, knitting sweaters and quilting for family and friends over the years. Before there was such a thing as build-a-bear Lenore was making teddy bears with move-able limbs wearing clothes she had sewn. Always looking for a new challenge, she began refinishing antique furniture for her home using techniques like decoupage. In the community, she loved tutoring children in the elementary schools, especially those who needed help in the 3Rs. Her strong faith in God helped her with obstacles that life brought, physical pain being one of those. We are deeply saddened by our loss of this faithful woman we knew as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. If more people held themselves to the high expectations and moral code that she did, the world would be a better place. We know that she is in heaven and grateful to have passed quickly on July 2, 2016.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphild and Frank Dahlberg; son, Todd Allen Johnson, age 4; brother, Francis Dahlberg; sister-in-law, Mae Dahlberg; and two nephews, Stuart Dahlberg and Mark Dahlberg

Survived by her loving husband Ken; son, Brian (Joyce) of Aurora, Il; four grandchildren, Lynn (Jason) Kermer of Aurora, IL, Katlyn of Chicago,IL, Todd of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Tyler of Aurora, IL; three great-grandchildren Haley, Makayla, and Jacob Kermer; brother, Duane (Carol Ann) Dahlberg of Frazee, MN; along with nieces and nephews.
