Laurie J. (Tiffany) Olson, age 67, of Alexandria, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at her home.
Private family services will be held.
Laurie Jean was born on January 12, 1957, to Elmer and Delores (Lupinek) Tiffany in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In 1970, her family moved to Montevideo, and she graduated from Willmar High School in June 1975. Laurie went on to serve in the National Guard and worked for Prudential Insurance Agency before transitioning to electronic repairs in Redwood Falls. In 1989, she earned her degree from SW Tech Institute in Granite Falls. Laurie then spent many years driving for Burlington Northern Railroad, transporting crews. She also worked in various group homes helping those with special needs.
On August 29, 1997, Laurie was united in marriage to Loren Olson in Spicer, and together they shared a love for fishing, camping, and bonfires. She also had a passion for collecting rabbits and roosters and found joy in spending her later years at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren in 2023; and brother, Randy Tiffany in 2019.
Laurie is survived by her son, Tim Maurer of Belle Plaine; daughter, Rachel (Jamey) Walter of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Lexys Zachow of St. Cloud; sister, Sandra Tiffany of the Brooklyn Park; sister-in-law, Rita Tiffany of Montevideo; brother, Terry Tiffany; foster son, Anthony Jones of Alexandria; along with many nieces and nephews.
