Kyle Neitzert

Kyle B. Neitzert, age 42, of Alexandria, died as a result of a car accident, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Rev. Ben Schimm. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Perham.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kyle Brian was born January 17, 1970, to Fredrick and Dorothy (Johnson) Neitzert in Huron, South Dakota. His family moved to Perham in 1973. Kyle was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham. He attended Perham Public Schools, where he was active in 4-H, FFA and wrestling. He was a three-time Region Champion and took second place twice at state in wresting. He graduated from Perham High School in 1988. He studied neon sign design at Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes. Following his education, Kyle worked at a sign business in Watertown, South Dakota for a short time before returning to Perham. He worked for various companies; Northern Mechanical Drilling in Perham, Swift Turkey Plant in Detroit Lakes, Ripley's Construction in Erhardt and construction for a short time in Florida. He was currently working as a groundskeeper/custodian for the Douglas County Courthouse in Alexandria. Kyle was an avid hunter and shooter.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Dorothy Neitzert of Parkers Prairie; two brothers, Darby (Lanette) Neitzert of Frazee and Michael Neitzert of Parkers Prairie; two sisters, Deborah Spears of Alexandria and Jeanie (Bill) Schalow of Evansville; two nephews, Phil Alstadt of Alexandria and Kurt (Trisha) Wideman of Park Rapids; four nieces, Marlana (Scott) Michelson of Fargo, Jaqui Neitzert of Parkers Prairie, Madison Alstadt of Duluth and Miami Schalow of Evansville; three great-nieces, Selena Michelson of Fargo, Eve Alstadt and Nevaeh Alstadt both of Alexandria and great-nephew, Breslee Alstadt of Duluth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Neitzert; sister, Lora Neitzert; grandparents, Merle and Alfred Johnson and August and Natilie Neitzert; and nephew, Cory Brown.

Urn bearer will be Darrin Young.
