Chong O. “Kim” Baukol, age 68, of Alexandria died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Alomere Health.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Pete Reishus officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Lind Family Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service.
Chong “Kim” Ok was born on August 18, 1953, to Kim and Cho (Sil) Chol in Seoul, South Korea. Kim grew up and attended school through the 6th grade in Korea and came to America in 1975. She worked in the service industry her entire life and retired as an environmental services worker cleaning at the Alexandria Clinic in 2018. Kim was compassionate, always positive, had a beautiful smile, and was friendly with everyone. She proudly earned her American citizenship in 2019. Her hobbies included watching cooking shows, listening to Korean music and videos, shopping, and watching Sea-Life. Kim enjoyed lighthouses, and collecting jewelry, purses and shoes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially overnight special visits with each grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Adell (Benjamin) Lukes and Erica Baukol both of Alexandria; mother-in-law, Mary Baukol of Starbuck; grandchildren, Chloe, Josiah, Charis and Elise Lukes, and Aiva Baukol all of Alexandria; sisters, Kim Chong Num and Kim Chong He of South Korea; brothers, Kim Jin Kuk and Kim Jin Won of South Korea; along with several nieces and nephews.
