Kay Mootz

Kathryn "Kay" Mootz was born February 29, 1940, in Fairmont, Minnesota and died peacefully, surrounded by family November 4, 2013, under the care of Douglas County Hospice in Alexandria, Minnesota. She was the loving wife of 49 years, of Jim Mootz. Together they shared their lives in Alexandria. Her greatest joy was taking car rides with her husband throughout Minnesota, especially to the farm to see their grandchildren. She was a devoted mother to Thomas (Don Brewer) Mootz of Eagan and Dawn (Chris) Jakubiec of Parkers Prairie and completely adored by her two grandchildren, Macy and Austin, who were the light of her life. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Dean (Vivian) Koenecke of Alexandria and sisters, Ruth Sands of Redwood Falls, Jo (Jim) Bjerknes of Alexandria, Helen (Roger) Lueck of Fairmont and Jean Anderson of Spirit Lake, Iowa along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and three brothers. Her honorary urn bearers will be the Daughters of Isabella.
