Obituary

Katherine “Kathy” Ann Wilkins, age 60, of Glenwood went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer just over a month prior to her passing and fought hard to be with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren until the end, a time that they will cherish and are thankful to God for.

A memorial service to celebrate Kathy will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Grace Christian Church in Parkers Prairie with Pastor Isaiah Schneider officiating. Music will be provided by Eric and Karen Amundson.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 25th, at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kathy was born on December 29th, 1965, to Richard and Carolyn (Winther) Koudela in Alexandria. She was the second youngest of the six children and grew up on the dairy farm. This taught her to value hard work. She attended Alexandria public schools and graduated in 1983. She met the love of her life at 17 years old and was married shortly after to the lucky Thomas Clark Wilkins on January 28th 1984 at the Alexandria Christian Church, now called New Life Christian Church. Her most important ministry started in 1987, when their first daughter Allison Elizabeth Wilkins (Dan Cherrix) was born. Next was Emily May Streitz (Garrett) in 1991. The twins, Kerri Anna Petersen (Dillon) and Kimberly Ann Holm (Bryce) were born in 1996. Kathy poured her life and soul into her daughters. They were her pride and joy. That is, until her grandchildren came. Kathy has 9 beautiful grandchildren in birth order; Everly Willa Streitz (9), Hazel Katherine Streitz (6), Forrest Thomas Streitz (5), Wilkes Bryce Holm (5), Grace Ann Renee Petersen (3), Wells Leslie Holm (2), Ava Anne Cherrix (2), Jack William Cherrix (10 months), Watson Stanley Thomas Petersen (2 months). These kids were her everything, and she was theirs.

Kathy got her dream job at Anderson Florist after she “retired” where she worked basically to pay off the flowers she purchased from there. We imagine this is what her piece of heaven looks like. The flowers around her house were magazine worthy.

Kathy loved passing down her hobbies like gardening, baking, card games, and crocheting to her grandkids. She also would learn anything if her grandchildren showed any interest in something new. She sat front row to all of the concerts, birthday parties, school events, hard days, etc. Her daughters feel immensely blessed to have had Kathy as their mother, as there is no one better. They feel sorrow for their children who deserved so much more time with their incredible grandmother. They know she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior and will do everything it takes to see her again one day.

She is united in heaven with her parents; Richard and Carolyn (Winther) Koudela and dear friend Eddy Niblett.
