Judith Kay was born on January 5, 1945, to Lawrence and Agnes (Thiedich) Leeseberg in Wadena. Judy spent her youth enjoying horses, school, band, and painting. She married and had two children. Judy and her family moved to Alexandria in the summer of 1974, where she continued to enjoy her family, horses and painting. Judy married Robert Hegg and has been with him since 1986. Judy loved spending all of her time at home with Bob. Over the past 38 years, she enjoyed birds, fish, wildlife, and other amazing miracles of nature. Once diagnosed with cancer, Judy wanted to spend her remaining days at home. She was able to watch all of the beautiful birds coming into the feeders, her beautiful plants blossoming, her fish in the pond, and was able to spend what remaining time she had with Bob.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Duane; son Doug Hegg; grandson, Mathew Wahlstrand.

Judy is survived by her husband Bob Hegg; daughter Shaleen (Greg) Wahlstrand of Sartell; two sons, Richard (Gayle) Snyder of Alexandria, and Kevin Hegg of Minneapolis; daughter-in-law, Sheila Hegg of Alexandria; three sisters, Ann (Rick) Standal of Missouri, Terri (Yousrey) Abdelrahman of Dayton Beach, Florida, and Penny (Bob) Skrentney of Ft. Myers, Florida; brother, Curt (Kari) Leeseberg of Wadena; six grandchildren, Sara (Aaron) Newes, Blake (Ashley) Thoennes, Jesse (Alexa) Snyder, Stormy Hegg, Logan Hegg, and Shanna Wahlstrand; seven great-grandchildren, Kaydence Newes, Bristol Newes, Mia Thoennes, Bennett Thoennes, Brecken Thoennes, Isla Snyder, and Silas Licari; along with nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Blake Thoennes, Jesse Snyder, Rich Snyder, Eric Leeseberg, Aaron Newes, and Ron Berglin.
