John "Jocko" T. Speirs

John “Jocko” T. Speirs, age 91, of Cottage Grove, formerly of Alexandria and South St. Paul, died on Monday, December 23, 2024, at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Private family services will be held with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, South St. Paul. Full military honors will be accorded.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jesse Speirs; wife, Jolene on February 23, 2024; parents-in-law, Francis and Symanthia Houle; and two brothers-in-law, Mitchell Houle and Richard Houle.

Jocko is survived by his two sons, Scott Speirs and Bruce (Chelle) Speirs; daughter, Jackie (Joe) Bailey; brother-in-law, Raymond Houle; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Micael) Speirs, Sean (Kate) Bailey, Nicole (Jake) Bailey Clark, Jake Speirs, Anna (Sam) Aiken, Caitlyn Speirs, and Cameron (Danielle) Speirs; eight great-grandchildren, Penelope, Ripley, Oskar, Conner, Duncan, Skyler, Cooper, and Sydney; along with many nieces and nephews.
