Joan K. Wagner

Joan K. Wagner, age 72, of Alexandria died on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and conclude with a celebration of life service at 7 p.m., on Friday, September 26, 2025, with Rev. Pete Reishus officiating. Private family interment will take place at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria.

Joan was born on March 20, 1953, to Daniel and LouAnn (Dickhoff) Wagner in Parkers Prairie. She attended public schools and graduated in 1971, from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. Following her education, she worked as a seamstress at Barthelemy Furs in Alexandria and later as a buyer in the home furnishings department at Herberger’s. She was united in marriage to Robb Steinbring on September 8, 1979, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Together, they raised two children, Brooke and Blake. Joan was actively involved in the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and played an instrumental role in planning and implementing the playground equipment at Voyager Elementary. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Arizona, and family trips to Duluth. Joan also loved sewing, especially making Halloween costumes and clothing for her children. She was well known for her baking and cooking, as well as her love of playing board and card games.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Brooke Steinbring of Alexandria; son, Blake (Kadie) Steinbring of Alexandria; former husband, Robb Steinbring of Alexandria; grandson, Thomas Hokanson of Alexandria; brother, Dan (Jody) Wagner of Alexandria; two nieces, Michelle Manthie and Sydney Steinbring; three nephews, Dustin Wagner, Cody Wagner, and Chase Steinbring.
