Jim P. Kamphake, age 57, life-long resident of Parkers Prairie, died suddenly while working out of town, Friday, June 1, 2012, at Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, North Dakota.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at St. William's Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Fr. LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Music will be provided by Becky Koep. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday with parish prayers at 7 p.m., at the church and continue one hour prior to the service.
James Peter "Jim" Kamphake was born June 17, 1954, to Henry A. "Pete" and Jo Ann A. (Buschke) Kamphake in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. William's Catholic Church. He graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1972. While still in school, Jim started working in the family business of road construction and excavating, eventually owning and operating his own trucking business. He was united in marriage to Deb McIntire on May 11, 1974, at Esther Lutheran Church in rural Parkers Prairie. Jim and Deb were married for 25 years and raised their children, Rick and Tonya, together. For the past 20 years, Jim had worked with his brother, John, for his company, J.J.'s. He enjoyed lake activities in his earlier years and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and cutting wood. He was a former member of St. William's Catholic Church.
Jim is survived by his son, Rick Kamphake of Alexandria; daughter, Tonya (Tony) Woodworth of Parkers Prairie; parents, Pete and Jo Ann Kamphake of Parkers Prairie; brother, John (Jennifer Pullins) Kamphake of Parkers Prairie; four sisters, Jane (Randy) Hinderscheid of Holmes City, Judy (Daniel) Tetrick of Alexandria and Joyce (Jeff) Arnold of Parkers Prairie; two grandchildren, Isabella and A.J. Woodworth; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry in 1976 and grandparents.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, J.R. and Nick Kamphake, Lee, Tanner and Brett Tetrick, Aaron, Cody and Cole Hinderscheid, Chase Steinbring and Hunter and Levi Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Isabella and A.J. and nieces, Kayla Hindersheid and Sydney Steinbring.
