Jeffrey Allen was born January 8, 1957, in Adrian, Minnesota to Harold and Joanne (Peters) Schutz. He grew up on a farm in Adrian and graduated from Adrian High School in 1975. He then attended Jackson Tech for electrician training in Jackson, where he met and then married Sherrill (Hakes) Schutz in 1977. They had two children, Teresa (1977) and Brent (1980) and farmed until 1980, when they purchased Linwood Resort in Osakis, which they operated until 1990. In 1990, they moved to the Alexandria area and launched a pressure washing business called Mobile Washer. Over the next many years Mobile Washer grew to offer nationwide industrial cleaning services as well as pressure washing equipment sales and service. In 2015, in response to the spread of avian flu in commercial flocks, he created Biofence, Inc., a commercial vehicle sanitizing equipment company. In recent years, Jeff began downsizing his business holdings, but still enjoyed creating and consulting for the cleaning industry.
In his free time, Jeff loved making his annual trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, going on cruises and other travel adventures with Sherrill, having coffee and lunch at the Downtown Diner, working on a variety of shop projects, and mowing his lawn with his new rider lawn mower. Most importantly he cherished spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren, out at their acreage near Nelson.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Schutz; father-in-law, Arden Hakes; sister, Mary Kay Schutz; and infant grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Schutz.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sherrill Schutz of Alexandria; mother, Joanne Schutz; mother- in-law, Shirley Hakes; children, Teresa (Tim) Peterson of Gresham, Oregon and Brent Schutz of Alexandria; grandchildren: Sloane Esler (13), Ethan Schutz (7), and Ryder Schutz (5); siblings, Ronald (Janet) Schutz, Jeannie (Jeff) Reed, and Jennifer (David) Azure; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
