Jayne C. Arvidson, age 58, of Parkers Prairie, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at her home.
Celebration of Life is 10 a.m., SATURDAY, October 3, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie, with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by Dan Niebuhr and Jon Niebuhr. Inurnment is at Esther Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., THURSDAY, at Esther Lutheran Church and will conclude with a prayer service at 8 p.m., with Rev. Jeanette Bidne officiating. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Jayne Clare Arvidson was born on July 19, 1957, to Edward and Betty (Janzen) Tasler in Worthington. She was baptized on August 18, 1957, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Worthington and confirmed on May 7, 1972, at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. Jayne received her Associates Degree from Worthington Community College and her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from St. Cloud State University. She was united in marriage to Eugene Arvidson on August 18, 1979, at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom. Jayne taught Physical Education and Health at Parkers Prairie Public School from 1980, until her retirement on June 1, 2015. She was also active in coaching girls' basketball, volleyball and softball during her teaching career. Jayne was a member of Esther Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for almost 20 years. She also served on the Church Council and was a member of the WELCA. Jayne volunteered in the Parkers Prairie schools and was a 4-H Adult Leader for Douglas County. She enjoyed gardening, walking, hunting, fishing, looking for shed antlers and evening drives. Jayne loved to visit with friends and family and often traveled to visit them. She especially loved to play with her grandchildren and be called "granny."
She was preceded in death by her father; and father-in-law, Roslyn Arvidson.
Jayne is survived by her husband of 36 years, Eugene; three sons, Corey (Heidi) Arvidson of Lake Preston, South Dakota, Tyler (Lisa) Arvidson of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming and Brady (Jessica) Arvidson of Parkers Prairie; daughter, Kaylyn (David) Leibrand of Tampa, Florida; mother, Betty Tasler of Windom; mother-in-law, Audrey Arvidson of Parkers Prairie; two brothers, Daryl (Elaine) Tasler of Windom and Wayne (Lynda) Tasler of Lithia, Florida; four sisters, Gayle (Tom) McFarland of Rochester, Fayth (Chuck) Jensen of Lakeville, Jolynn (Kent) Janssen of Sherburn, and Stacey (Jeff) Crosson of Springfield, Virginia; three grandchildren, Easton, Wyatt and Amelia Arvidson all of Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Corey Arvidson, Tyler Arvidson, Brady Arvidson and David Leibrand.
