It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janyce “Jan” Mae Bjorklund Struck, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend on September 21, 2025. She was 85 years old.
A private graveside service will be held at Geneva Cemetery, Alexandria.
Jan was born on July 8, 1940, to Norm and Mae (Wickstrom) Bjorklund in Minneapolis. Her life was defined by deep love and strong family connections. Jan and Orlyn were introduced in a unique and serendipitous way - through a blind dark-room x-ray film developer at Swedish Hospital, who ended the commonalities between Jan and Orlyn and knew they were meant to meet. It was a match that would evolve into a marriage filled with unwavering love, respect, and loyalty.
Together, Jan and Orlyn built a life rooted in mutual care and admirations. Their bond was a model of partnership enduring through the many chapters of life, raising a family, and supporting one another through every trial and triumph. After a lifetime of hard work, Jan and Orlyn were grateful for their time on Lake Geneva where they enjoyed golfing, boating and happy hours with their friends. They were so grateful for their many friendships made through the years.
Jan was known for her kindness, generosity, and sharp wit. She had a way of making everyone around her feel seen and valued. Whether she was caring for her loved ones, sharing her wisdom, or baking her amazing pies, she had an innate ability to connect with people in a meaningful way. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and grace.
She was preceded in the death of her loving husband, Orlyn Struck; parents, Norm and Mae Bjorklund; and sister and brother-in-law, Marcie and Denny Pearson.
Jan is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Paselk and Betsy (Vincent) Moga; grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) White, Tyler Paselk, Will Moga, Joe Moga, and Matt Moga; and great grandchildren, Emma White, Macey White, Finley White, and Kane Paselk. Jan’s family was the cornerstone of her life, watching her children and grandchildren grow and thrive.
Jan’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff who cared for her at Grand Arbor and to the staff of Vivie Hospice.
