Janice Bjornstad

Janice L. Bjornstad, age 84, of Parkers Prairie, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2016, at St. William's Living Center Chapel with Rev. Rachel Stout officiating.  Burial will take place at Tingvold Lutheran Cemetery, rural Underwood.

Janice Lorraine Bjornstad was born April 8, 1932, to Julius and Ruth (Fossum) Bjornstad in Valley City, North Dakota.  She attended Barnard school house as a child and graduated from Underwood High School in 1950.  Following her education, she helped her father farm and worked as a housekeeper with her aunt, Mabel Thompson at a TB Sanatorium near Otter Tail Lake.  She was a caregiver to her aging parents and enjoyed making meals and baking.  She enjoyed making bird houses on the farm, bird watching and reading.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Gordon Dean, and brother, Ernest Dale.

She is survived by her sister, Ardis Synstelien of Lomita, California; sister-in-law, Dawn Bjornstad of Minnetonka; niece, Sandy; nephews, Dennis and Bryan; and numerous cousins.
