James “Jim” R. Schlosser, age 65, of Alexandria, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Alomere Health in Alexandria from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River with Fr. Matthew Kuhn officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Minnesota Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League Detachment 1409. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, beginning with parish prayers at 4 p.m., at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

James Robert was born on December 28, 1960, to Alphonse and Magdalene (Buerskin) Schlosser in Parkers Prairie. He was raised on the family farm in Spruce Hill Township, where he was perfectly positioned between seven older and seven younger siblings. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and attended elementary school in Carlos. He continued his education in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1979. Following graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he served as a company clerk, leveraging his "Radar O’Reilly" skills to good use before receiving an honorable discharge in 1983. Returning home to Alexandria, he began working at Alexandria Extrusion, where he unknowingly crossed paths with his future bride. Jim married Amy Zeithamer on June 6, 1987, at Kensington Runestone Park. Their wedding celebration concluded with a friendly softball game between the bride's and groom's families, with everyone leaving the field a winner. Together they made their home in Alexandria, where they raised their family. Jim completed hydraulics training at Alexandria Technical College where he earned his associate degree. One of his prized accomplishments was building his own log splitter. He took great pride in his work and remained with the same company until his passing, spanning more than 42 years, where he found his greatest fulfillment in mentoring younger employees and caring for the facility he knew so well. Away from work, Jim was happiest with his hands busy. Whether helping neighboring farmers, machining parts for them in his shop, or building whatever his children could imagine when they were young, he was always willing to lend his skills to others. He also remained active in the Marine Corps League, serving in a variety of leadership roles. Jim cherished country life and enjoyed caring for his animals, especially the barn cats he had strategically trained. Following the tragic loss of his brother, he found a closeness to Allen by continuing to ride his Harley and experiencing the thrill of skydiving. Jim will be remembered for his genuine kindness, quiet honesty, and ability to see the best in others. He never hesitated to set aside his own plans to help someone in need. Above all, Jim's greatest source of pride was his family, whom he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Allen, Gerald, and Steve Schlosser.

Jim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Amy; son, Thomas Schlosser; daughter, Samantha Schlosser; step-son, Nicholas; two step-grandchildren; siblings, Judy Schlosser, Ardyce Palmer, Arnold Schlosser, Suzie Hargrove, Nancy (Al) Johnson, Clarence Schlosser, Larry Schlosser, Kristi (Rick) Ollig, Chuck Schlosser, Cindy (Larry) Roers, and Mark (Tanya) Schlosser; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be Thomas Schlosser, Arnold Schlosser, Larry Schlosser, Chuck Schlosser, Samantha Schlosser, Dan Larson, Larry Thorstad, and Ivan Lamusga. Honorary Casket bearers will be members of the Marine Corps League Detachment 1409 and Jim's fellow coworkers at Alexandria Industries.
