In her youth, she taught Red Cross swim lessons at Lake Miltona.  Ione graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1949.  During her college years, Ione traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada, often-times hitchhiking.  She graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College in 1953. Following her education, she taught Phy-Ed in LeSueur and coached the cheerleading squad.  While teaching in LeSueur, Ione met Ivan Frandle, a lifelong employee and executive of Green Giant, later Pillsbury. Ione and Ivan married October 25, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran church in Parkers Prairie. She was recruited by the LeSueur Public Schools to substitute teach Home-Economics because of her excellent cooking skills.  Ione was an avid golfer and member of the LeSueur Country Club.  She golfed every day the Club was open and won many golf tournaments including the senior women’s division of the Resorters in Alexandria.  She was quite artistic and enjoyed gardening, arranging flowers, bird watching, and painting.  She was very athletic throughout her lifetime.  Ione was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and former member of the LeSueur Country Club and First Lutheran Church of LeSueur. Ione moved to Parkers Prairie ten years ago to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan December 31, 1994; nephew, Scott Dittberner; and cousins.
