Pearl Anderson, age 93, of Alexandria, formerly of Pequot Lakes, died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with Rev. Donna Olsen officiating. Music will be provided by the church organist. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the church and continue one hour prior to the service.
Iona Pearl Anderson was born April 18, 1917, to Harvey and Stella (Lively) Shaffer in Dallas County, Linden, Iowa. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Pequot Lakes, Minnesota where she attended and graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Sigval Anderson on June 27, 1937. They owned and operated a Mobil service station and bulk plant in Pequot Lakes. They worked side-by-side running their business and raising their family. She will be remembered as a loving, caring Mother whose greatest pleasure was her family. She will be missed and always remembered.
Pearl is survived by her two sons, Marlin (Darlene) Anderson of La Crescent, Minnesota and Harvey Anderson of Miltona, Minnesota; grandson, Shawn (Julie) Anderson of Apple Valley, Minnesota; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alyson and Austin; along with nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Sigval; three sisters, Lois (Victor) Larson, Katherine (Albert) Larson and Anna (Lawrence)Musick; half-sister, June Parker; and other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Marlin Anderson, Harvey Anderson, Shawn Anderson, Paul Schmidt, Jack Schmidt and David Gravdahl.
