Helen G Larson, age 80, of the Almora area died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandra.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am, Friday, August 23, 2013, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Fr. Matthew Crane officiating. Music is provided by Kim Byrne. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will begin with a 5 pm parish prayer service Thursday at the church and conclude at 8 pm. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Helen Gertrude Larson was born July 8, 1933, to Joseph and Rose (Schecher) Turchin in Effington Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. She grew up in Effington Township and attended country school. She was united in marriage to Phillip Larson in the spring of 1951, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Henning. Following their marriage they farmed in Folden Township until they moved to the Almora area. They continued farming in Almora and Helen enjoyed spending time with her husband cutting wood. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, baking bread, up to 14 loaves each week and visiting with family and friends. She loved music, especially polka and watched "Catholic Hour" every Sunday.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip in 1983, an infant daughter; granddaughter, Amy; brother, Joe; sisters, Beatrice Lyson and Angeline Berkland.

Helen is survived by her three sons, Philbert (Katherine) Larson and Dale (Ginger) Larson both of Henning and Dennis (Joy) Larson of Vining; daughter, Ann (Harold) Kuhne of Parkers Prairie; brother, LeRoy (Deloris) Turchin of Parkers Prairie; two sisters, Rose (Lester) McLaughlin of Andover and Viola Becker of Clitherall; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Scott Larson, Jon Larson, Phillip Larson, Ronald Turchin, Randy Turchin and Richard Turchin.
