Helen Jean Eckstrom

Helen Jean Eckstrom, age 93, Alexandria, formerly of Mpls, died on June 5, 2022.  Helen graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1946, and Asbury College in 1950.  She met her husband-to-be on board the M/S Gripsholm in 1948, while traveling with her parents to Sweden.  A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Helen’s greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward LeRoy; son, Peter; grandchildren, Rachel (Blake) Meyer, Gillian (Nicholas) Venzon, and Nicholas; and three great grandchildren. 

Preceded by parents, Harry and Grace Thurston; and son, Eric. 

Private interment.
