Harvey D. Jahnke, age 79, of Parkers Prairie, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Rachel Stout officiating. Music is provided by organist, Pam Wenzel and vocalist, Arlo Peterson. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Harvey Duwayne Jahnke was born April 2, 1938, to William and Esther (Werth) Jahnke in Parkers Prairie Township. He lived and worked on the family farm with his parents by Fish Lake, west of Parkers Prairie. Following his father’s death, Harvey and his mother moved into Parkers Prairie in the mid 1980’s. He started his lawn mowing career at this time and continued mowing lawns until moving into St. William’s Living Center in 2014. Harvey enjoyed fishing, lawn mowing, yard work in general and riding his lawn mower around town to visit with friends in the community. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harvey is survived by many cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are Marv Koep, Joe Koep, Bernie Suchy, Phillip Koep, Tom Lorine, Jeff Koep and Brent Ost. Honorary pallbearers are Rick and Deb Gappa, Ray and Kathy Caauwe, Dale and Deb Koebernick, Doug Hoffman, David Vogt, Mark Simonson and Tom Ames.
