Harry G. Wood, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018, at the St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Reception immediately after the service with inurnment following at Woodside Cemetery in rural Parkers Prairie.

Harry George Wood was born on August 21, 1924 to Frank and Mary (Haugaard) Wood in Bertha, MN. Harry grew up on the farm and went to Bertha public schools and graduated in 1942. After school he worked on the family dairy farm and while enjoying himself at a local hall dance he met the love of his life. Harry married Iona Johnson when he was 24 and she was 18. The two raised their family in the area until moving to Fergus Falls when Harry took a job with the highway department. He worked there until retirement and then moved back to Parkers Prairie. Harry loved to fish, hunt, dance and listen to polka music. He will be missed for his quick wit and ability to tell a good story.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Thomas.

Harry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Iona Wood of Parkers Prairie; daughter, Nancy Wood (Rick Rice) of St. Louis Park; sister, Esther White of Ocala, FL; nieces and nephews, Carole, Rena, Kent, Cathy, and K.C..
