George Charles Jorgenson, age 81, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Okalee of Medina Memory Care under the compassionate care of St. Croix Hospice following a courageous battle with dementia.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Lind Family Funeral Home, 1623 10th Ave. E, Alexandria. Private family burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.
The visitation will take place at 10 a.m., with time for coffee and fellowship prior to the service at 11 a.m.
George was born on March 5, 1945, to Iver and Ella (Johnson) Jorgenson in Alexandria. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and continued on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a business degree. Following his education, he worked at State Farm Insurance as an accountant for over 40 years.
George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved chopping wood and being near the water. He had a lifelong affection for dogs, especially Irish Setters and Labs. He followed the Minnesota Twins and rarely missed an episode of Ice Road Truckers. Whether he was at Culver’s, Pizza Ranch, or on a sunny patio, he loved a simple lunch of fish, fries and a Pepsi. Above all, George was social by nature and loved striking up a conversation with anyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents Iver and Ella Jorgenson, and baby sister.
George is survived by his former wife, Lynn (Deitz) Jorgenson of Eden Prairie; daughters, Nancy Jorgenson of Maple Grove, Cindy (Mike) LeSage of Excelsior, Katie Jorgenson of Eden Prairie, and Julie Jorgenson of Chanhassen; grandchildren, Courtney (Cameron) Lyon, Jonathan LeSage, Tyler Hamilton, Benjamin LeSage, Emily Hamilton and Mitchell LeSage.
Casket bearers are his family.
Memorials are preferred to Ducks Unlimited.
