Francis (Fritz) G. Roller, 76, Alexandria, died Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at Alomere Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Francis Gregory Roller was born on October 1, 1943, in Hettinger County, the son of Vincent P. and Magdalen (Selinger) Roller. He graduated high school from St Mary’s School in New England, North Dakota. Francis entered the Army in 1964 and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Following his discharge, he attended North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton, North Dakota in the Machinist program. Francis worked for Harold Peterson Manufacturing, Melroe, and Remmele Engineering before becoming a partner with Con-Tek Machine in St Paul, Minnesota in 1981. Francis retired from Con-Tek in the spring of 2012. He then took pride in his part time work for his nephew, Kent Annis at Full Circle International.
Francis was described by many as a selfless man, full of kindness and compassion. Always in good spirits, ready to share a joke and a story. He enjoyed “putzing” around his shop, creating something new, and building things for others. Francis always put the needs of others in front of his own. He loved his family and friends dearly.
Francis is survived by his children, Stacy (Kelan) Buchta of Avon, Minnesota, and Tony (Megan) Roller of Bloomington, Minnesota; grandchildren: Taylor Buchta, Carter Buchta, Nicole Buchta, and Sylvia Roller; former wife, Carol Roller of Andover, Minnesota, significant other, Faith Savitt of Alexandria; siblings, Rita (Walt) Steiner of Dickinson, North Dakota, Ann Strecker of Billings, Montana, Paul (Vickie) Roller of Billings, Montana, Mary Jane (Merle) Annis of Glyndon, Minnesota, Mike (Karen) Roller of Bismarck, North Dakota, Bernice (Larry) Imhoff of Kalispell, Montana, Louise (Fred) Kiefer of Burt, New York, and Stephen (Peggy) Roller of New England, North Dakota; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Agnes Hoffer, Arnold Roller, and Leonard Roller.
Funeral Service and Celebration of Life to be scheduled for a later date (due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Restrictions).
