Everett H. Dickmeyer, age 95 of Alexandria, died peacefully with his strong faith in Jesus Christ on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Alomere Health in Alexandria.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday February 13, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Deacon Intern Sharon Bridges officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Fairfax.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m., Sunday, February 12, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Everett Harris was born on November 17, 1927, to Theodore and Lydia (Borth) Dickmeyer in Franklin, Minnesota. Everett grew up on the family farm in Franklin and then went to business school in Minneapolis. He joined the Army National Guard stationed in Fort Rucker, Alabama and met Mary while in Mobile, Alabama. They were united in marriage in 1953 and resided in Brooklyn Center and Plymouth for many years before retirement. Everett enjoyed a long accounting career at Minnegasco in Minneapolis. He retired in 1986 and moved to Lobster Lake near Alexandria and fully enjoyed the many outdoor activities that became part of his life as well as spending winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Evelyn Dickmeyer; son, Ronald Dickmeyer; and siblings, Ione Norgon and Keith Dickmeyer.
Everett is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Dickmeyer and Diane Longerbone; daughter-in-law, Diane Dickmeyer; and grandchildren, Laura (Carlton), Jason, Andrea and Lindsey Dickmeyer.
Memorials are preferred to Samaritan’s Purse.
