Esther Hertha Krause, age 89, of Parkers Prairie, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2011, in Miami, Florida while wintering at her daughter's home.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Esther was born October 16, 1921, to Herman and Hulda (Riedel) Rabold in Carlos Township, Douglas County, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 25, 1921, in Carlos and confirmed April 14, 1935, by Pastor Arthur Koehler at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South St. Paul. She was united in marriage to Herman Krause on October 10, 1940, by Pastor August Sieving in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage, Esther and Herman farmed side-by-side on the Krause family farm in Eastern Township, Otter Tail County for 41 years. They retired and moved into Parkers Prairie in 1981. Esther enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, reading and playing cards. She was considered one of Parkers Prairie's finest seamstresses. Esther was active in the Parkers Prairie Senior Citizens and the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Farringer of Redwood Falls, Susan (Leon) Berg of Starbuck and Nila (Miguel "Mike") Parages of Miami, Florida; a brother, Clarence (Ellen) Rabold of St. Paul; four sisters, Elfa Brenke of Le Sueur, Sylvia Flood of Englewood, Florida, JoAnn (Bill) Guerin of St. Paul and Bernice Shellenbarger of Inver Grove Heights; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman in 1987; three grandchildren, Samantha Parages, Douglas Farringer and Brenda Farringer; a sister, Agnes Krause and two brothers, Oscar and Edmund Rabold.
Pallbearers will be Brian Berg, Kevin Berg, Michael Schreiner, Michael Parages, Mark Parages and Bryce Farringer. Honorary pallbearers will be Kristine Shumaker, Suzanne Farringer-Schueller, Jolene Schreiner and her remaining 14 great-grandchildren.
