Elmer W. Hollatz, age 93, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at St. William's Living Center.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Marcus Lueders. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elmer William Hollatz was born October 6, 1917, to William and Paula (Eggert) Hollatz in Effington Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in North Effington. He attended Country School District #218. He was united in marriage to Luvern Zinter on December 3, 1937, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Following their marriage he began farming in the Vining area before moving to Eastern Township where he farmed until retiring in 1972. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Fridley where he drove school bus. They returned to Parkers Prairie in February of 1982, where he resided until his death. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Elmer is survived by his wife of 73 years, Luvern; a son, Marlin (Sheila) Hollatz of West Palm Beach, Florida; a daughter, Marjorie Latevzik of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; a brother, Eldor Hollatz of Clark, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Pamela, Bruce, Kathy, Douglas, Cindy, Wendy and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marcine in 1976; a brother, Walter Hollatz and a sister, Ethel Engebretsen.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Hollatz, Vernon Hollatz, Eugene Hollatz, Bruce Berkness, Douglas Latevzik and Roger Ruckheim.
