Elaine V. Wilson, age 94, of Parkers Prairie, died on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Interment will take place at the Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 14th, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elaine Violet was born on October 19, 1931, to Hiram and Helena “Lena” (Athens) Roberts in Inman Township, Otter Tail County. She was baptized on July 12, 1936, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Henning and confirmed on May 27, 1945, at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Elaine attended rural schools in Henning, Deer Creek, and Fergus Falls. She was united in marriage to Alvin Wilson on October 20, 1949, in Bismarck, North Dakota. The couple made their home there for five years before settling in Parkers Prairie, where they built a life together and raised their family. Beginning in 1963, while raising her own children at home, Elaine provided housework services for many families in the Parkers Prairie area. In addition to this work, she was employed at the Parkers Prairie Bakery from 1968 to 1978 and later at St. William’s Living Center from 1981 until 2011. She continued her housework for local families until retiring in 2012. Elaine enjoyed attending craft sales, doing fancy work, playing cards, and tending to her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin; daughter Bonnie; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Edward Drews; brother-in-law Harry Bau; niece Barbara Flugge; and nephew Charles Drews.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jim) Voge of Arizona; son, David (Beth) Wilson of Millsap, Texas; sister, Marlene Bau of Madison, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Geivanna) Voge of Colorado, Kelly (Tim) Neisen of Minnesota, Aaron Nelson of Texas; Lyndsay (Justry) Weir of Colorado, Kyle (Chelsea) Wilson of Virginia, Larry Elias, Chris (Ashley) Elias, and John (Erin) Elias all of Texas; numerous great-grandchildren; the Steve Sonkowski family, who held a special place in Elaine’s life; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers are David Wilson, Bryan Revering, LeRoy Nordlund, Charlie Klimek, Robert Voy, and Joel Wilke.
