Elaine I. Salvog

Elaine I. Salvog, age 94, of Alexandria, died on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Alomere Health.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m., on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church in Miltona with Deacon Sharon Bridges presiding. Private interment will take place at a later date at the church cemetery.

The visitation will begin at 4 p.m., on Thursday, October 1st and conclude with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the church. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Elaine Idella was born on December 30, 1931, to Julius and Minnie (Jacobson) Holt at home in Almora. She was baptized on April 4, 1932, and confirmed on November 18, 1945, at Elmo Lutheran Church. She attended Almora Elementary School through the ninth grade and graduated from Henning High School in 1949. She moved to Minneapolis where she graduated from Minnesota School of Business. Elaine was united in marriage to Ernest A. Salvog on September 16, 1950, at Elmo Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they lived in rural Almora and she worked as a secretary at Peterson Biddick in Wadena. In 1958, she and Ernie moved to Miltona, and she then worked as a cashier for the Credit Bureau in Alexandria. In 1965, Elaine began her career at Miltona State Bank as a teller and many years later retired as the manager. Elaine and Ernie moved to Alexandria in 2021, to live at Arabella where they developed many friendships. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, WELCA and was a Sunday School teacher. She was active in the Homemakers Club and was a charter member of the Miltona Ladies Lions. Her hobbies included league bowling, sewing clothes for kids and grandkids, and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Norman Holt; and husband Ernie in 2022.

Elaine is survived by her children, Renee (Barry) Steen of Moorhead, James (Susan) Salvog of Little Falls, and Terri (Mike) Maliszewski of Eden Prairie; eight grandchildren, Erik (Melinda) Steen, Kari (Brett) Germain, Kevin (Shawna) Steen, Jamie (Joe) Lindahl, Julie Barthelemy, Jennifer (Greg) Davis, Chris (Stacy) Maliszewski, and Steven (Stephanie) Maliszewski; 19 great-grandchildren, Finn, Lief, Maddi, Bree, Lilly, Tristan, Alyana, Isabella, Dominic, Hannah, Natalie, Noah, James, Carter, Tyler, Ryder, Mari, Anders, and Simon; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are eight grandchildren.
