Dottie D. Wistrom (Ost), age 84, died Sunday April 14, 2013 in Reno, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 27, 2013 at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music will be provided by pianist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Burial will take place at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Dottie Dae was born August 14, 1928 to Harry and Adele Ost in Alexandria, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Parkers Prairie and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1946. Dottie married Roland "Rol" Wistrom on March 17, 1961, in Willmar, Minnesota and the following year they moved to Mountain View, California with her two sons. While in California she worked on and off for the JC Penney Company. In 1987, she and Rol retired and moved to the western side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to a home that they loved. Together they enjoyed extensive travel from Europe to Australia. Their final move was to Reno, Nevada in the late 1990's.
Dottie is survived by siblings, Norma Erickson of Long Lake, Minnesota and David (Linda) Ost of Bakersfield, California; sister-in-law, Myrdene (Don) Meyer of Owatonna, Minnesota; and many nephews, nieces and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland; sons, Ronald and Craig Wilson; brother, Douglas Ost; and sister, Carol Ost.
Pallbearers are John Ashton, David Erickson, Jeff Ost, Phillip Ost, John Ost and Steve Tukua.
The family prefers memorials to the Dakota Boys Ranch in Minot, North Dakota.
