Donovan H. Hart, age 80, of Miltona, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie.
Funeral Services are 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. Terry Finnern officiating. Music is provided by organist, Deb Joachim and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Donovan Henry Hart was born September 19, 1934, to Henry and Esther (Brockopp) Hart in Spruce Hill Township. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Donovan was raised on the family farm and attended country school through the eighth grade. He was united in marriage to Shirley Bolstad August 16, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage, Donovan continued to work on the farm, as well as Spruce Center Bait, and Miltona Lumber. He also managed Tip Top Riding Stables on Lake Miltona. Don and Shirley purchased the family farm in 1970, and while farming, he also auctioneered. Donovan retired from farming after 35 years in 1995, and moved to Miltona. Donovan was a member of the Parkers Prairie Saddle Club and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. He enjoyed Sunday afternoons with friends and family, giving pony and horse rides, riding with the boys and taking the ponies in summer parades.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donovan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley; three sons, David (Mark) Hart of Coon Rapids, Dale Hart and Darwin (Sue) Hart both of Parkers Prairie; brother, Ernest (Georgia) Hart; sister, Marie (John) Schultz; four grandchildren, Jason Hart, Derek Hart, Dominic (Ronda) Hart, Denelle Hart; step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Mike Welcome) Lynch; two great-grandsons, Carter and Landon; two step great-grandsons, Xander and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Derek Hart, Dominic Hart, Jason Hart, Rick Hart, Steve Hurd and Patrick Schultz. Honorary pallbearers are Denelle Hart and Karen Hurd.
