Dennis A. Wesen, age 71, of Alexandria, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Dennis service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on his obituary page on the funeral home's website. Interment will take place at Van Loon Cemetery, rural Holmes City.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Dennis Alan was born on June 22, 1951, to Delphin and Annie (Salto) Wesen in Alexandria. He grew up in the Pocket Lake area on the Wesen family farm and attended Pocket Lake Country School. Dennis graduated from Jefferson High School and Alexandria Vo-Tech where he completed his education in Tool & Die manufacturing. Dennis began his career as a Tool & Die maker at ITW (Illinois Tool Works) in Alexandria where he worked until retirement at the age of 50, which he was extremely proud to accomplish. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and golfing, in local golf leagues. He especially loved motorcycle and snowmobile trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dennis is survived by his many cousins and a host of friends.
