Denise Lenker

Denise M. Lenker, age 54, of Parkers Prairie, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 2, 2018, surrounded by her family at St. Cloud Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor John Riggle officiating.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Denise Marie was born on January 21, 1964, to Art and Margie Vigil in Denver, Colorado. She attended and graduated from high school in Denver. Following her education, she began working in operations at a local bank where she met her future husband, Art Lenker. Together they had three children, Dan, Jessica, and Mike while continuing to live in Denver. In 1999, they moved to Eden Prairie and Denise stayed at home to raise her children. Denise and Art were united in marriage on June 30, 2000, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. They continued to live in Eden Prairie until 2016, when they moved to Parkers Prairie. She enjoyed fishing, especially on the ice, and playing cards. Most of all, Denise loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tony Vigil; parents-in-law, William and MaryAnn Lenker; and brother-in-law, Danny Orr.

Denise is survived by her husband, Art; three children, Dan (Kendra) Lenker of Parkers Prairie, Jessica (Jonny Pfeifer) Lenker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mike Lenker of Bloomington; grandchild, baby Lenker on the way; parents, Art and Margie Vigil of Denver, Colorado; sister, Debbie (Joel) Vigil of Denver, Colorado; brother, Mark Vigil of Denver, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Mary) Lenker of Eden Prairie and Bill (Stacey) Lenker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two sisters-in-law, Lin Orr of Sheridan, Wyoming and Laurie (Todd) Tyler of Lake City, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
