Delphine B. Freudenberg, age 96, of Hopkins, formerly of Parkers Prairie, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Hopkins.
Funeral services are 1 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. James Lutheran Church, South Effington with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Sheila Ruckheim. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delphine Bertha Freudenberg was born May 11, 1920, to Herman and Hedwig (Wilke) Ruckheim at home in South Effington Township. She was baptized by Pastor Tessmann on May 30, 1920, and confirmed by Pastor H.J. Readeke on May 20, 1934, at St. James Lutheran Church, South Effington. She attended grade school at District #74 Ottertail County Country School. Following her education, Delphine was united in marriage to Edgar Freudenberg on October 14, 1939, at St. James Lutheran Church. They made their home on a farm in Leaf Valley Township and later retired in Parkers Prairie in 1979. She was a life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church, LWML, and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and flower arranging. Delphine always loved and appreciated her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar; brothers, Gordon, Arthur, Waldemar, Albert, and Eldor Ruckheim; sisters, Cora Diedrich and Marie Betterman; and son-in-law, Dennis Starks.
Delphine is survived by her four daughters, Donna (Maynard) Noetzelman of Maple Grove, Lois Starks of Woodbury, Beverly (Jim) Osekowsky of Eden Prairie and Linda (John) Smetana of Ramsey; son, Ralph (Sheryl) Freudenberg of Parkers Prairie; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are her grandsons.
