Della Augusta was born on August 23, 1935, with her twin sister, Darlene to Albert and Ella (Miller) Noetzelman in Miltona.  She was baptized on September 29, 1935, and confirmed on June 26, 1949, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona.  She attended Country School District #46, Lake Irene through the eighth grade and concluded her education at Parkers Prairie High School.  Following her education, she worked at the Missouri Club for two years, and at Bethany Home in the kitchen for three years.  Della was united in marriage to Melvin Ost on April 12, 1956, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, West Miltona.  Following their marriage, Della helped her husband farm, was a homemaker and raised their two children.  She loved to grow her garden and spent many hours in the summer hoeing, tilling, and picking her vegetables. She was very happy and proud of her gardens, both vegetable and flower. Della was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served in the Ladies Group and sang in the choir.  She also worked at the children’s daycare at the Baptist Church.  Besides gardening, Della enjoyed baking, square dancing with Melvin, singing, embroidery and watching birds. Everybody loved the pickles that Della canned, and she generously shared them when she helped at Ladies Group.  She enjoyed making potato salad and her popcorn balls at Christmas, which were a favorite by many.  Anytime she received visitors she would treat them with candy.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Zinter and Orvin Jahnke; husband, Melvin in July of 2014; and twin sister, Darlene in September of 2014.

Della is survived by her two children, Debbie (Ray) Bohn of Alexandria and Steven Ost of Parkers Prairie; sister, Loraine Jahnke of Parkers Prairie; two grandchildren, Alicia Bohn of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Jennifer (Brandon) Krippner of Paynesville; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Devin; along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers are Bruce Jahnke, Scott Jahnke, Brandon Krippner, Dennis Behnke, Ted Bjerketvedt, and Dean Koebernick.
