David Harvey was born on December 10, 1966, in Minneapolis where he was baptized. He was adopted at three months by Harvey and Dianne (Guenther) Zimmerman of Parkers Prairie. He was later dedicated and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church. Dave graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1985. He continued his education at Alex Tech for two years in sales and marketing. In 1987, he moved to the Twin Cities to start his career in sales. He was united in marriage to Lisa Stanley and to this union Alexander was born. Dave continued living in the Cities until returning home to Parkers Prairie in 2019, due to health issues and to be closer to family. After five years of patiently waiting, completing dialysis along the way, he received the miracle gift of a kidney transplant on New Years Eve 2023. After receiving his transplant, it allowed him to enjoy a healthy life again. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, and his faith was everything to him. His motto of “Don't question God" brings comfort knowing he is now with God in his heavenly Kingdom. Dave enjoyed 4-wheeling, hitting golf balls, playing kings corner with friends, and spending time with his mom, bringing her to appointments or sitting on the deck at the farm.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and father, Harvey.
Dave is survived by his son, Alex (Anna) Zimmerman of Coon Rapids; two granddaughters, Lily Rose and Zoe Thomas Zimmerman; mother, Dianne Zimmerman of Parkers Prairie; sister, Lisa (John) Nori of Parkers Prairie; nephew, Nick (Lindsay) Nori of Parkers Prairie; niece, Sierra (Bryce) Jergenson of Morris; great niece, Elliana Nori; friend, Melissa Maher; aunts, uncles, and cousins; along with a host of friends.
Urn bearers are Nick and Lindsay Nori and Sierra and Bryce Jergenson.
