David E. Rick, age 72, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at his home, following a brief illness.
Memorial service is 10 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Military honors accorded by the Parkers Prairie American Legion Post #219.
David Elenzo Rick was born March 5, 1943, to Ann Buchanan in Meaden, Tennessee and was adopted at age six by Phil and Idona (Wills) Rick. He attended and graduated from high school in Plattsburgh, Missouri. David served in the United States Army from 1960, until he was honorably discharged in 1963. He was united in marriage February 19, 1963, to Ruth E. Bell in Marion, Iowa. David was an over the road truck driver for 20 years and ran his own booths at flea markets. David was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Eagle Bend. He enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, leather works and flea marketing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and great-grandson, Gage Koelliker.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth; son, David (Randi) Rick of St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Monica (Danny) Denny of Carlos; five grandchildren, Angel Brooks, Andy Denny, Jacob Denny, Nicole Denny, Heather Koelliker and Colton Rick; eight great-grandchildren, Addison Turner, Lateka Ryckman, Layla Ryckman, Mason Denny, Auaney Denny, Tyson Denny, Autumn Precht and Summer Precht.
