David Allen was born on July 16, 1955, to LeRoy and Gladys (Bendt) Perseke in Breckenridge. He attended Tintah High School and eventually earned his GED. He attended Alexandria Technical College where he received a degree in welding in the 1980’s. He worked for several manufacturing companies throughout his life. He continued his education and enrolled in the business program at Alexandria Tech and received his degree in the early 2000’s. David was united in marriage to Karen Bullis on September 16, 1978, in Elbow Lake. He faithfully served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1978, specializing in infantry, truck driving, and missile system operations. He was honorably discharged in 2006 as SSG-E6. David loved outdoor life; teaching his daughters and grandkids to fish, and enjoyed numerous family camping trips, gardening and planting trees with his beautiful wife Karen. He absolutely loved all his grandchildren and passed along his knowledge of fixing cars, welding, shooting, hunting, riding ATV and dirtbike. David was a proud man who always believed he was right yet had a goofy personality that could make you laugh. He passed down his strong sense of independence to his daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry Perseke; and cousin John Bornhoft.
David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen of Alexandria; three daughters, Angela Perseke, Amy (Josh Anderson) Perseke, and April (Matthew) Zondervan all of Alexandria; brother, Darrell (Lori) Perseke of Westport; two sisters, Linda (Jerry) Brooks of Silver Lake and Donna (Paul) Gerstner of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Barb Perseke of Hastings; seven grandchildren, Dawson Perseke, Drew Perseke, Isaiah Anderson, Gabriel Anderson, Alexis Zondervan, Mason Zondervan, and Elsa Zondervan; many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Urnbearers are Dawson Perseke, Isaiah Anderson, Gabriel Anderson, and Mason Zondervan.
