Darold Edwin was born on August 4, 1943, to Edwin and Audrey (Larsen) Schramm in Parkers Prairie. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Darold grew up on the family farm near Miltona and attended a local country school. In 1961, he graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. Following his graduation, Darold committed himself to working alongside his father on their family farm. When his father passed away, Darold assumed complete responsibility for the farm and tended to it diligently until his retirement in 2000. Throughout these years, his neighbors, Michael and Shirley Jeppesen, along with their daughter Molly, became an integral part of his life, caring for him as though he was a member of their own family. An active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Darold participated in many church activities. He relocated to Alex Assisted Living (AAL) in 2017, where he served as President of the Resident Council for four years and approached this position with utmost seriousness. He was highly active in AAL activities and relished the outings they organized, whether to the Dairy Queen, fishing trips, dining out, or scenic drives. Darold never missed a game of Bingo. In his spare time, he found joy in fishing and deer hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Lusty.

Darold is survived by his two sisters, Carmen Schramm of Minneapolis, and Lois Lusty of Richfield; nephew, Craig (Gina) Lusty of Farmington; great-nephew, Michael Woody of Chaska; along with special friends, Shirley and Michael Jeppesen and Molly (Luke) Ruegeuer all of Miltona.
