Constance “Connie” Angela (Ciampi) Spiegelberg, age 83, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Parkers Prairie under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in South Dakota.
Connie was born on May 24, 1942, to Angelo and Helen (Stander) Ciampi in St. Paul. She attended St. Paschal’s Catholic School and graduated from Harding High School in 1960. Connie worked for Kresge Five and Dime and later for an insurance company. She met the love of her life, Richard Spiegelberg, and they were united in marriage on December 1, 1962. Together, they were blessed with four children. Connie worked at Sears in the Maplewood Mall before moving in June of 1977 to Brookings, South Dakota, where she lived for the next 47 years. After the passing of her husband of 62 years, she moved to Parkers Prairie to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Connie loved animals and had numerous cats, dogs, horses, and hamsters over the years. She kept her home meticulously clean and loved to bake. Connie also enjoyed bowling and belonged to a bowling league that won first place in state competitions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo and Helen Ciampi; husband Richard; mother-in-law Lorraine Taylor; and brothers-in-law, Gilmore Loeffler and Marvin Elert.
Connie is survived by her three sons, Scott (Tammy) Spiegelberg, Christopher Spiegelberg, and Timothy Spiegelberg all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter, Lisa (Charlie) Warborg of Parkers Prairie; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Loeffler of Lutz, Florida; brother Steven Ciampi of St. Paul; sisters-in-law, Joan Elert of Oakdale and Judith (Donald) Ederer of St. Charles, Missouri; lifelong friend Carole Kasal of St. Paul; beloved dog Chloe; and two cats.
