Chance James Richard GiGuere

Chance J. R. GiGuere, age 20, of Alexandria died tragically as a result of a house fire on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria.

The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Chance James Richard was born on December 23, 2003, to Dale and Mary (Skuza) GiGuere in Robbinsdale. He grew up in Garfield and attended Garfield Elementary School, his family later moved to Alexandria where Chance attended school at Lincoln Elementary and Win Academy in Starbuck. Chance was diagnosed with autism at an early age and was a caring soul, animal lover, full of energy and rambunctious. He worked for a short time at McDonald’s south. He especially loved playing video games and fishing. 

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Russell Jr.

Chance is survived by his mother, Mary Skuza of Alexandria; father, Dale GiGuere of Osakis; sister, Chess Rybak of Vadnais Heights; paternal grandmother, Georgia GiGuere of Albertville; maternal grandmother, Theresa Sonterre of Alexandria; four aunts, Shawnta GiGuere of Long Prairie, Stacy Schmidt of Albertville, Kim Head, and Rose Bishop both of Osakis; along with many cousins.
