Chad James Flynn

Chad J. Flynn, age 48, of Isanti, formerly of Alexandria, died unexpectedly at a family friend’s hunting land on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in rural Parkers Prairie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria.

A visitation is 4-7 p.m., on Friday at the Lind Family Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service.

Chad James was born on July 20, 1975, to Ron and Nancy (Neumann) Flynn in Long Prairie. He graduated from Osakis High School in 1994. Chad went from driving go-carts at a young age to turning wrenches for his dad in his super stock. He continued to hit the asphalt racing legends cars with his brother and then putting his daughter in a go-cart and sharing the winner’s circle. He was united in marriage to Cheri Grover on April 2, 2005, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Chad worked at the University of Minnesota as an environmental engineer and at International Union of Operating Engineers as a business representative. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the MDHA. His hobbies included racing, hunting, ATVs, socializing with family and friends, and calling his friend, Bones “Stupid”.  Chad especially enjoyed fixing things for his daughters and lending a hand to anyone that needed it. Hunting was one of his many passions and he was able to pass the tradition on to both of his daughters, whether it was duck or deer hunting, it was time well spent with his three girls.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father, Ronald Flynn.

Chad is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cheri; daughters, Brooke (fiancé, Nick Villella) Flynn and Taylor Flynn both of Isanti; mother, Nancy (fiancé, Fran Rodriguez) Flynn of Evansville; brother, Rodney (Kristi) Flynn of Osakis; and sister, Kayla (significant other, Mitch Rasmusen) Flynn of Alexandria.

Honorary casket bearers are Joey Johnson, Walt Johnson, Stacey “Bones” Rettmann, John Lamirande, Bryce Mindt, Mitch “Gener” Rasmusen. Jerry Lee, Mike Foster, Chris Poshek, and Jamie “Butch” Guttum.
