Carole J. Meissner, age 76, of Parkers Prairie, died on Sunday, July 19, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. Interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Evansville.
The visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the prayer service at 7 p.m., on Thursday at the church. It will continue for one hour prior to the service.
Carole Jean was born on November 20, 1949, to Gilbert and Floretta (Kalpin) Ziegelmann in Alexandria. She grew up in Leaf Valley and was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She attended Parkers Prairie Public Schools and graduated in 1967. Carole then attended Alexandria Technical College and worked at First National Bank in Alexandria. She was united in marriage to Glenn Meissner on April 18, 1970, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they lived a short time in Oceanside, California while Glenn was in the service. They returned to live in Leaf Valley where they raised their five children, Darren, Shawn, Travis, Angie, and Craig. Carole enjoyed their annual trips to Branson, card playing, and faithfully attended her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, of whom she was incredibly proud. She was a Sunday school teacher and life-time member of the Trinity LWML. She loved her family, attending church and family gatherings and watching the Minnesota Twins. Blessed be her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; Gilbert and Floretta Ziegelman, Harlan and Lorraine Meissner, daughter-in-law, Paula Meissner; brother-in-law, Wayne Korkowski; and sister-in-law, Norma Odens.
