Carol E. Ordal, age 86, of Parkers Prairie, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at her home under the care of her granddaughter, Elizabeth and Vivie Hospice.

A private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Sverdrup Cemetery, Underwood.

Carol Elizabeth Ordal was born on April 5, 1940, in Bismarck, North Dakota. She was adopted by Albert and Clara (Davis) Kleeblatt of Faulkton, South Dakota, on June 23, 1940. Carol attended public school in Faulkton and graduated from Faulkton High School in 1958. That fall, she entered the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Mitchell, South Dakota, graduating in June 1961.

Carol was united in marriage to Merlyn E. Ordal of Fergus Falls on August 26, 1961, in Faulkton. Following their marriage, they moved to Mankato, where Carol worked at Immanuel Hospital while Merlyn attended college for four years. After his graduation in 1965, they moved to Hastings, where Carol worked at Regina Memorial Hospital while Merlyn attended the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia.

In 1970, they moved to Milaca, and in 1974, they moved to Willmar. Then in August 1975, they settled in Faribault, where Merlyn practiced anesthesia at Rice County District One Hospital for 19 years. Carol served as the licensed school nurse at the junior high school in District 656 for 14 years. They retired in 1994 and moved to Ottertail before settling in Parkers Prairie in 2004.

Carol enjoyed playing the piano and organ for church, beginning in grade school and continuing until retirement. She also taught piano lessons and enjoyed oil painting, decorating, and entertaining. Carol dearly loved her husband, Merlyn; her two children, Janda and Jeff; and her grandchildren, and she treasured being part of their lives. She loved her friends, and most of all, she loved telling her children and grandchildren of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlyn in 2011; brother Irvin Kleeblatt; three brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Janda (Tim) Ordal Doyle; son, Jeffrey (Heather Vinar) Ordal; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Tiarre) Westfall, Benn Westfall, Elizabeth (fiancé, Eric Peterson) Westfall, Colby Ordal, Hogan Ordal, Jovie Ordal and Jaxie Vinar; five great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, JesséMae, Taylor, Elle, and Owen; two sisters-in-law, Verla Hohman and Imy Kleeblatt; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
