Carmon Olson

Carmon H. Olson, age 87, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Jonathan Sorum officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Julie Lindgren. Burial will take place at Swedish Lutheran Cemetery in rural Parkers Prairie.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Friday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Carmon Herbert Olson was born April 21, 1923, to Edwin and Emma (Johnson) Olson in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. He grew up on his family farm east of town and attended country school. He was baptized and confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Following his education he took over the responsibility of the family farm following his father's early death. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Luebben on October 9, 1993, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Clarissa, Minnesota. Following their marriage they continued living on the family farm until moving into Parkers Prairie in 1998. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, a former member of the church council and cemetery board. Farming was his life's work and hobby, he especially enjoyed visiting with his nephews while living on the farm.

Carmon is survived by his wife, Charlotte; three step-sons, Gary Lee (Janna) Luebben of Zimmerman, Larry Herbert (Pam) Luebben of Hudson and Roger Duane (Chris) Luebben of Browerville; three brothers, Arthur Olson of Alexandria, Harris Olson of Almora and Ardon (Lovie) Olson of Arden Hills; sister, Verna (Bob) Rude of Dalton; 11 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Olson; and sister, Joyce Holteen.

Pallbearers will be Doug Olson, Gary Olson, Garth Olson, Grant Olson, Steve Olson and
Greg Olson.
