Obituary

Cameron E. Koester, age 38, of Brandon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at his home.

Celebration of life services are pending at this time.

Cameron Erhard was born on July 14, 1988, to Lynn and Kathy (Landowski) Koester at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. Cameron was always known as the “why” child. Why does “it” do this? “Why, why, why!” His constant curiosity led to his exceptional IQ. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. With the ability to attend college anywhere, he decided it just wasn’t what he wanted. And anyone who knew Cameron knows that if it wasn’t what he wanted, he didn’t do it.

Cameron enjoyed life. He held several jobs and was involved with the AAAA (Alexandria Area Arts Association) Theatre, the Quad Squad, the Jaycees, and many other civic organizations. His true passion came when he founded Lakes Area Pride and when he began working at Holiday Station North. He had found his anchors, both of which fed his love of helping others, his kindness, and his true, honest love for his fellow folks. His smile was infectious, as was his laugh.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Lynn and Kathy Koester of Alexandria; brother Benjamin Koester of Fergus Falls; bonus sisters, Kierra Lynne Porter of Brandon and Ashley Grausam of Brandon; nieces, Deja and Harmony Niemala both of Glenwood; nephew Jackson Grausam of Glenwood; grandmother, Mary Landowski of rural Carlos; godmother Julie Koester-Larson of Osseo; longtime friend and cohort Jim Boesen of Brandon; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
