Bryan J. Appelget, age 51, of Parkers Prairie, died Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Funeral services are 3 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and guitarist, Ed Newberg.

Visitation is 4-6 p.m., Saturday, January 27, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bryan John Appelget was born on December 3, 1966, in Minneapolis and adopted by John and Sharon (Pitner) Appelget. He grew up in Plymouth and played hockey and little league all through his school years. Bryan graduated from Wayzata High School. Bryan was united in marriage to Irene Newberg on October 8, 2000, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie where they live. Bryan was an avid bowhunter and fisherman who cherished every moment in the woods or on the lake. He worked 13 years for Continental Bridge in Carlos until a serious fall which rendered him partially disabled. He would never hesitate to stop and help a stranger in need. There wasn’t anything Bryan wouldn’t do for anyone.  Bryan loved plowing snow and being the go to guy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony John.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 17 years, Irene; mother, Sharon Appelget of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Steven (Andrea) Appelget of Minneapolis and Paul (Enid) Appelget of Minot, North Dakota; sister, LeAnn Appelget of Grand Rapids; three nephews; and a niece.

Pallbearers are Jason Merrick, Jimmy Davis, Joel Wilke, John Schrader, Peyton Stanlake, and Tom Matteson.
