Brian Brockopp, age 58, of Brooten, formerly of Parkers Prairie, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home in Brooten.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 2-3 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Interment is at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, North Effington.
Brian William was born on January 6, 1965, to Delbert and Marjorie (Anderson) Brockopp at their family farm. As the middle child among five siblings, Brian was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in North Effington. He attended Parkers Prairie schools, graduating from Parkers Prairie High School in 1983. Post-graduation, Brian returned to the family farm to work alongside his father. He married Lisa Doering on November 10, 1984, at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple had four children, raising them on the farm. Brian continued farming until his father's passing in 2002. Afterwards, he worked as a farmhand and held various local jobs. A passionate farmer at heart, he loved all aspects of farming, especially tractors, crop yields, and harvest. Brian also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working on boats with his son. Above all, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert; and infant daughter, Jessica.
Brian is survived by his mother, Marjorie of Parkers Prairie; children, Alyssa (Josh) Huckle of Lowry, Tricia (Trent) Melbye of Moorehead, and Dustin Brockopp of Brooten; grandchildren, Carter, Kason, Madilyn, Eli, Isaac, Axel, Jazlynn, and Sierrah; sisters, Cindy (Dave) Eggert and Dawn Block; brothers, Jon (Kathy) Brockopp and Barry (Kristine) Brockopp; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
