Bonnie Turpin

Bonnie L. Turpin, age 75, of Alexandria, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at her home under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.

A memorial service will be held 12 noon, Monday, March 8, 2021, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Rev. Ralph Erickson officiating. Music is provided by organist, Ivy Christensen and vocalist, Kim Byrne. The service will be live streamed from Bonnie’s memorial page on the funeral home website and broadcast live from the parking lot on 105.3 FM.

A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Bonnie Luella was born on July 4, 1945, to Gordon and Josephine (Ziesmer) Karger in Parkers Prairie. She attended Parkers Prairie Public Schools and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Her family moved to Minneapolis when Bonnie was 17 years old.  She was united in marriage to Arden Allen in May of 1963, at Faith Lutheran Church in Miltona.  Following their marriage, Bonnie was blessed with four children and was able to be a homemaker for 15 years.  She then began working for Faulkner Dry Cleaners. Following her divorce from Arden, she started dating Clyde Turpin. Bonnie then moved into property management and worked in Minneapolis and Edina.  Following her retirement in 2003, she moved to Mahnomen and married Clyde in August. Following the death of her husband, Bonnie returned to the Miltona/Parkers Prairie area to be closer to family. She finished the rest of her days living with her daughter, Holly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Arden; husband, Clyde; seven brothers, and two sisters.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Margo Skinner and Holly Danielson; two sons, Jamie (Stephanie) Allen and Jerud Allen; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and in laws.
