Robert Bob Joseph Steidl, age 50, of Carlos, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Rev. Wade Meyer officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Sue Nelson and band, Zamar. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Miltona.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m., prayer service, Thursday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bob was born October 3, 1959, to Fred and Juletta (Feda) Steidl in Douglas County, Minnesota where he resided his entire life. Bob was united in marriage to Bonnie Wunderlich on June 3, 1995. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob served the community as a member of the Carlos Fire Department for 18 years, as well as being a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Posse. He was an active member of the Alexandria R/C Flyers Club. He enjoyed spending time with family, flying R/C planes, hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. The past few years he also enjoyed wintering in Texas and making new friends where he eagerly helped those in need with their fix-it projects.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Kim Steidl of Big Lake; son, Colten (Mandy) Steidl of Carlos; step-sons, Aaron Williams (fianc?e, Meghan Floen) and Jeremy (Ashley) Williams both of Alexandria; granddaughter, Liberty Ann Steidl, whom he loved and cherished; sisters, Lynda McCandless of Lompoc, California, Marilyn Steidl of Brooklyn Center, Sue Bryant of Clarksville, Tennessee, Peggy (Mike) Karnis of New Brighton, Minnesota, Karla (Dean) Pederson of Brule, Wisconsin and Becky Atkinson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; brother, Doug (Tammy) Steidl of Carlos; mother-in-law, Gladys Wunderlich of Miltona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Juletta Steidl; sister, Sandra Steidl; and father-in-law, Kenneth Wunderlich.

Pallbearers will be Tony Rutten, Wayne Stumpf, Bob Beliveau, Jim Horton, Grant Wunderlich and Harvey Lindstrom. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry and Jean Rising, his children, granddaughter, mother-in-law, and close friends at Twin Lake RV Park in Mission, Texas.
